Charlene K was founded by Teong Kay and
his wife Gigi, longtime residents of Beverly Hills. They created the
collection with a passion for beautiful design. The perfect way to describe
Charlene K in a few simple words is contemporary, classic, trendy and perfect
for any occasion. The collection features gold, sterling silver, rose gold and
14k gold vermeil metal tones along with rare gemstones.
Charlene K has been featured in many magazines and TV networks such as
Instyle, Life & Style, People, Star, California Apparel News, OC Register, WWD,
E! Channel, Extra and soon to be The Oprah Network. To name a few
celebrities that love Charlene K are Eva Longoria, Angela Bassett, Tyra
Banks, Hillary Duff, Audrina Patridge, Ziah Colon, Emanuelle Chriqui, Han Ye
Seul, Ha Ji-won, Kyle Richards, Taylor Armstrong, and Bai Ling.
Teong Kay was born and raised in Burma, where he graduated with a bachelor's
degree in business. He immigrated to the U.S in the late 1960's with his wife
and one year old son, Glenn. Coming to the U.S. wasn't an easy task for Teong,
having only thirty-five dollars in his pocket. He started working at an entry
level position in fashion to make a living and quickly learned about the
industry. Just a few years later, Teong had already opened several boutiques of
his own. Shortly after that, he founded two very successful dress lines, Pave
and St. Romei. Both collections were selling to some of the best stores in the
country including Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman
Marcus. Following the successful launch, Teong moved to the former home of
actress Jane Wyman and President Ronald Reagan in Beverly Hills.
The jewelry collection is actually named after Teong and Gigi's ten year old
daughter Charlene. Today, Charlene K collection has become a key vendor in
hundreds of stores all across the United States, Canada, Dubai, London, China,
Korea, Japan, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia and Europe. |
